We are celebrating being awarded the Platinum Artsmark award at an event in Newcastle!.

Archibald Primary have been awarded the Platinum Artsmark for their partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Each class at Archibald Primary teaches a Shakespeare play.

The school also supports a network of Associate Schools in the local area and beyond. Every two years the school holds a special week focusing on the arts. During this amazing week, every pupil from Nursery to Year 6 perform in a Shakespeare play. Every year, the network of Associate Schools perform a Shakespeare play with over 120 of their pupils. Mrs Jefferies, Headteacher of Archibald Primary, and Mr Cowgill, Deputy Headteacher, attended an award ceremony on Monday 24th June at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, in Newcastle, to officially receive the Platinum Artsmark trophy from 'Culture Bridge North East' organisation.

Mrs Jefferies stated: "We are very proud of the partnership we have with the Royal Shakespeare Company and this award reflects the pupils' hard work and the commitment of our staff. We are absolutely delighted to have received this award." This very special award will now be displayed with pride in school.
